Our ward is known for its safe streets, family-friendly parks, and walkable commercial corridors. During my years in City Hall, I worked with city departments and CPS on making capital investments to benefit our neighborhoods, schools, and businesses.

As alderman, I will leverage my experience as a City employee to advocate relentlessly for more investment in our parks, infrastructure, and schools while focusing on providing responsive services for our residents.

I will:

Support smart, balanced development. I will lead a robust community engagement process to develop a master zoning plan for the 47th ward that will guide the development in the ward with the goal of improving walkability, increasing foot traffic for small business owners, and ensuring that residents can afford to live in our community.

Advocate for fast and efficient city services. As alderman I will advocate for resident service requests directly with the mayor’s office and city departments.

Conduct an inventory and prioritization of infrastructure needs. I will work with residents to map out potholes, broken sidewalks, damaged streets, flood-prone streets, and other problems. We will use this map to prioritize infrastructure investments and advocate for additional support from City Hall. In particular, I will push for more investment in flood prevention measures such as permeable pavement, additional planters, and expanded green space.

Develop a plan for improving and expanding green space for 47th ward families. I will work with the community to develop a strategy for investing in our parks and green space for years to come and push City Hall to provide the resources to make these improvements. This plan will include expanding access to dog parks, undertaking facilities improvements at our parks, and expanding green space along the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor.

Support the continued redevelopment of the Chicago River. Residents have driven the revitalization of the river in our neighborhood and the city is starting to catch up with its investment in the 312 River Run trail. I will support the timely completion of this project and additional investment along the river.

Follow through to complete the development of the North Center Town Square. This important new space will provide neighborhood families with a gathering place.

Develop a plan for the Ravenswood Corridor that balances its potential as a craft beer and dining destination with its current status as a job center adjacent to residential neighborhoods.
